Doll making evening on August 2

For those of you who couldn't get to our great Community Day on July 1st (or for those who came and want to continue) our first dollmaking evening will be on Wednesday August 2nd, from 7-9pm, at 45 Anzac Road, Leederville. Everyone's welcome - if you can sew or knit, that's fantastic, but if you haven't done either for years, we can find you jobs plaiting wool for hair, or threading beads . . . we'll be making simple felt dolls, but we also welcome knitters to make little hairpieces or shoulder bags!

What to bring . . . well, if you have a sewing box, do bring it (scissors, chenille needles, embroidery thread, chalk, black and white wool) - but if you haven't, that's fine too.

And updates: our Community Day raised over $1200 to go towards doll distribution and training for carers (yay, thank you everyone!) . . . and the Uthando Project now has a website.

Questions? Email us - (just leave out the z when you type clarezh@iinet.net.au).

What a great day!

We just had a fabulous day with around 100 people making and dressing dolls, sitting chatting over scones and chocolate cake, or browsing our stall for bargains . . . thank you everyone who came (or who supported us) and made the day such a success!

And if you couldn't get there, don't worry - there will be a doll making evening at the same address on Wednesday 2nd August, from 7-9pm. You don't need to be an expert knitter or stitcher to come along - you can help to stuff dolls or thread beads . . .

If that time doesn't suit, contact us and we'll put you on the mailing list - maybe there'll be other groups forming that you could join.

Thanks again, everyone!
